A Pointe-Claire institution for over 35 years, Dr. James Donnelly's office is a family-run clinic that aims to provide exceptional service.

A graduate of the Université de Montreal's optometry program in 1976, Dr. James Donnelly opened his own practice in Montreal's West Island 35 years ago. He has built his practice around the needs of his patients and their families, many of whom have come for their annual eye exams since the beginning. Dr. Donnelly is dedicated to offering patients a personalised, professional service. He instils this passion in two of his sons who are opticians on-staff. Continuing the tradition of the family business, Dr. Donnelly now co-owns the practice with his son, Shawn.

Shawn Donnelly graduated with honours from the opticianry program at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario in 2000. He has been working with his father, Dr. Donnelly, for over 17 years. As manager and co-owner of the practice, Shawn oversees the selection of frames.

In addition to their Pointe-Claire clinic, Dr. Donnelly and Shawn are responsible for a mobile clinic in the Nunavik region. They both developed this project and continue to oversee it. With his keen sense of travel, Dr. Donnelly travels to the region to work several times a year. Shawn also takes pride in the mobile clinic that he and Dr. Donnelly developed in Nunavik. He is passionate about his travel experiences and travels to the region several times a year to fit the Inuit patients with glasses.
